August 2020: Alex Wilson finished his DPhil studies at Oxford – congratulations Dr Wilson! He is moving on to work towards his qualification as a Clinical Psychologist at Newcastle University.
August 2020: Dr Emma Karlsson from Bangor University presents at the online North Sea Meeting on Laterality. She gave a talk on her recent work on the lateralisation of body perception in right and non-right handers.
July 2020: Work from the COLA consortium is presented at the online meeting of the Experimental Psychology Society. Dr Adam Parker, part of the OSCCI lab at Oxford, gave a talk on our online laterality experiments and presented a poster on the processing of word form in the brain.
June 2020: COLA team leader Professor Mairéad MacSweeney from UCL was awarded a £1.6m Wellcome Senior Research Fellowship Renewal grant to study: “Mechanisms of reading development in deaf children”.
March 2020: In person experiments were put on hold this year due to COVID-19, but we are currently working on procedures to allow us to continue running experiments safely. Meanwhile, we have been continuing with online experiments.
